Discoverable, Innovative, and Sustainable
The irreversibility of the destruction of nature motivates me to make a contribution to protect the environment.
In my work with the green youth organization CYCAN, I have learned about various aspects of environmental protection. Among these lessons, I have learned that there is huge potential in the student population to research energy use, raise awareness about alternative energy sources/technologies, and generally influence decisions regarding energy consumption.
Additionally, I have come to appreciate that domestic and international forums such as the International Youth Summit On Energy And Climate Change are an excellent way to make an impact on a large number of outstanding Chinese youth, who can combine their academic background with practical applications to enhance their awareness of climate change.
This knowledge makes me particularly excited about the possibilities of our new Green Youth Entrepreneurship program, which aims to encourage more outstanding youth to participate in the environmental protection work.
When I was a sophomore in college in 2004, I organized an environmental protection association in campus. A year later, I successfully united 20 universities in Henan province and founded The Green Henan. In 2006, I participated in the College Environmental Forum (CEF), which focuses on energy conservation and emission reduction. In 2007, along with six other youth environment organizations, I founded CYCAN and in the next 3 years, from 2007 to 2010, I began a full time job at CYCAN and have since focused on youth participation in energy and climate change issues.
Recently I have started a new company named “MOLBASE.com” with my partner. MOLBASE is an open platform which can provide chemical compound information with online price, supply capacity and related documents from suppliers. It also provides company buyer and research institution the most efficient and cost effective way to inquiry and purchase chemicals, and supplier’s product promotion.
